State DOT

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) reports that roughly 20,000 construction workers are injured each year in highway and street construction accidents. According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, approximately 100 construction workers are killed each year.  For the Department of Transportation at the state level this is a growing concern and has increased the need to make sure construction workers are protected by traffic safety products appropriately positioned and installed.  The safety concern also translates over to the vehicle drivers to provide adequate information and warnings to provide safe transit in construction areas.

Whether its installing navigation lights, resistance barriers, or warning gates, the need to increase road construction and traffic pattern safety is quickly becoming an imperative. As the overseer of projects, the State Department of Transportation has set forth traffic safety requirements specific for each state.  Your partner in traffic safety products, BBRSS – Roadway, is here to make sure you comply with all state regulations and assist DOT officials in providing products for traffic construction and control as needed.  (800)367-0387
